Boca to Spend $7.5 on Waterfront Property

The city of Boca Raton has agreed to purchase intracoastal property for $7.5 million. The plan is to turn it into a waterfront destination with docks, retail shops, and dining to boot. Available only in Target and Walmart, people literalyl line up everyday at 8am in the Boca Raton stores for their luck in getting this hot toy for their children. On Amazon they are going for an amazing $150 when at the store they are only $20. It is a craze that has struck the world but mostly Boca Raton. Lets see how many kids get this for Christmas!

Moquila owners expand

Moquila, located in Boca Raton, is opening their successful 'Rocco's Tacos' location here in Boca Raton at the Boca Town Center Circle! Their grand opening will be Next Wednesday, November 25th- with free food, drinks and entertainment. Something tells me it's going to be a standard Boca Raton opening- lots of wealthy, free-loaders!

Sit Boy, Heal Heal...

The other day out at my soccer game, I was looking at the crowd and I noticed a little boy that was trying to run from his parents but then WHOOSH, all of a sudden flew backwards. I then noticed his parents had the little guy on a leash, Yes a leash I was stunned. How the hell could a parent put his child on a leash. Lazy parents these days don't want to have to do any more extra work then they have to, and thats including even taking care of their own children. Half of my friends growing up all had nannies who practically raised them, and no not becaue the mom was working, but because she didn;t want to deal wiht the crying and etc. Spoiled mother and ignorant parents putting their children on leashes and treating them like animals is shocking. I guess I should have already expected that though bieng it is Boca, and go figure why our generation has been growing up psycotic.

one would assume that while driving in boca, it would be the senior citizens slowing everyone down... nope! we have such a variation of senior citizens that the young kids are getting yelled at for driving to slow. a friend was driving on glades passing the mall and an old man sped up to her left and yelled 'hey... try driving faster!"

Halloween for Grandmas

So this past Halloween in Boca Raton there were a lot of crazy costumes. Sure, that's normal for young people, but for the old?? Blue Martini is a place where the local Bocan "cougars" tend to flock to. Cougars are described as woman 50+ that dress like they are in their 20's! Well that's what you saw alot of on Halloween. Old ladies wearing scandalous clothes, wearing the low cut costumes. It was downright inappropriate. No wonder Boca is known for the most plastic surgery per capita. Its great people watching though!

Has Boca Lost it's Edge....

Has Boca Finally lost its edge and glamour look of a high end, clean, expensive city?? or did boca decide to say screw it and get money back in Boca Raton anyway they can in this down economy. As most Bocans would know about 7 years ago there was a hooters on Glades Rd. in Boca where Abe&Louies is located. They forced them out saying it was bringing a bad image and not what boca wanted to represent. Well as some may have heard, a new Hooters will be opening around that some location this summer. Why the sudden change Boca official?? Have they got sick of their wives now or decide that it costs to much money to be a member of the country club that they need new ways to get their money. You tell me.. I am all for the Hooters opening up again, it was never a problem and one of the most profitable restraunts when it was around, and I am sure it will pick up right where it left off... Well done boca, well done.

Loggerhead Turtle Population Dwindling

The Gumbo Limbo Nature Center in Boca Raton counts the turtle nests on the beaches of Boca every year. The last 2 out of 3 years brought record low nests with nesting below 400, 14 years ago it was closer to 900. One of the main threats to the little turtles is beach construction and light pollution on the beach. The turtles instinctively go to the brightest light which is normally the moon, but turtles are confused with lights from land. Once they go the opposite way of the moon onto land, they die. Record small nests were recorded this year in South and North Carolina, although Georgia remained consistent. A push is being made to re-classify them from threatened to endangered.

Please people when your on the beach or living on the beach during turtle season, keep your lights off or windows heavily covered. These animals are amazing, we don't want to be the reason for this animals extinction do we?

Cinemark Palace in Boca's Premier Luxury Movie Watching

Cinemark Palace 20 in Boca Raton will wine and dine you with luxury. Sitting at the top of the regular movie theatre, people have the option of dining and drinking a glass of wine while you watch a movie. Although this might sounds as a great experience, movie tickets start at $20, when you can watch a movie without the wine fro $7.50. Its good to do once in a while, but their pricey menu and lavish ambiance does not coincide with the current economic times. "Bocans" living in Boca Raton are very used to this lifestyle and apparently the downturn of the economy has not affected them.

Underage Drinking.....Problem or Not

I can't tell you how many times I have gone out and seen these high school girls absolutely wasted and they look like their 15. As a guy you would think this is the perfect night to come out, but it comes a point when their soo sloppy they are taking turns holding each others hair to throw up....Thank god they passed a law that any area that doesnt serve food has to be 21 or older.

These little babies have their first sip of alcohol and all of a sudden think their wasted, or maybe they do it to think there cool...idk you tell me.

And even worse these group of girls get their pack of 15yr old boyfirends to follow them where ever they go and they take up so much space. The you find yourslef at the bar and a random kid asks you to buy him a drink...... hahah good thing i tell him there is a fee charge of buying me a drink also lol..but no in all seriousness these club promoters will get anyone they can in their but it turns the place into a joke.

Brilliant Burglers in Boca Raton

Out of the very few areas in Boca Raton where the neighborhood is not 5 star a home invasion occurred by up to 5 masked and armed robbers. At 3:30am on November 2nd, the men tied the victims up and stole electronics and cash from the home. The robbers reportedly had shotguns and pistols. All that work and police said they found the truck used as the get away vehicle a block away with some of the stolen property in and around it. The moral of the story, if you don't have morals and want to steel stuff, plan a heist and all, whats the point if you don't take it? Another question that begs to be asked is why did they go in a "hood" in Boca? I mean the chances of hitting a hood in Boca is slim, doesn't an upper scale area have nicer things to steal?

The burglars were not caught yet, but one is sketched to look like the above picture.

Mizner Park Luxury

Mizner Park is known for its upscale luxury shops. A skirt or shirt in this plaza can cost you about $100 and up. Feel like getting a scoop of ice cream? You can go to Sloans in Mizner park and get a scoop of ice cream on a cone for $10! Clearly this area is only for the rich and famous. Every restaurant in this plaza that has outdoor seating is also required to accomodate dogs. This means servers wait on the dog as well. A bowl of water and a treat must be brought out to them as soon as they sit down. Boca Raton is known for exactly this star treatment. The Bocans think that this is normal and standard everywhere...reality check.. its not...well maybe in LA it is.

Starbucks Heaven

STARBUCKS....STARBUCKS....STARBUCKS.....I have come to discover that the city of boca runs on NO!! not DUNKIN but......Starbucks. We have 9 locations alone in the city of Boca Raton. I see one everywhere I turn now, its liek a big green monster. Who needs blood? As long as you have Starbucks you should be good. I always see people walking around with Starbucks now, its almost like their coffee cups are collectables, I see them in my freinds cars, rooms, everywhere. How could it become so popular? It amazes me that were going through an economic crisis but people spend $4 dollars on Frappachinos at 9 different locations. When will it end!!!

Boca Raton= Giant Green Lizards

Giant green iguanas are everywhere in south Florida and people in Bocans are done with them. Experts say there are hundreds of thousands of them. A Boca inventor Mark Streisfeld developed Iguana-Rid which is a spray claimed to keep the iguanas away. Experts say there are no studies to effectively rid iguanas. There are iguana trappers out there but they kill them and they go to waste. Iguana-Rid is supposed to smell and taste so bad that the iguanas want no part of it and leave. Experts say that new generations can develop a smell and tatse for anything. Good luck in ridding the iguanas.

a new trend amongst cougar mothers in boca raton are not only dividing and conquering the night with their girlfriends, but bringing their daughters along the ride. it's clearly not enough to enjoy the single-life with women your age but more fun when your 23 yeard old daughter is creating trouble too. They drink together, dance together and prey on the same aged victims. I don't know how the daughter must feel going out with their moms, but one thing is for sure- Bocan Mothers love going out with their children because it makes them feel young and certainly act young.

Driving Status in Boca

I dont know what it is, but i fell that Boca has to have the most populated group of old people that don't know how to drive. Who gives them their licences, its that bad now a days. I know everyone has seen it especially when its that one time your in a huge rush and u get stuck behind an old person taht doesnt know what to do, and goes 10 under the speed limit. We need to start giving them different driving tests, there more hazerdous then kids, and thats a far reach i'm going with but I believe it now, they pull out right in front of you when your flying down the road, and apparently to them there is just no care in the world. WE shoudl take them off the road!!!!!

Concert Weirdos

I was recently at a Blink 182 concert a couple of weeks ago. You definately see a lot of interesting characters. From hard core fans to teeny bopper teenagers, the concert was filled with people of all ages. I like to people watch at these shows because you typically see an array of fashion choices that people wear. I was sitting watching the concert when all of the sudden this guy dressed in a Batman costume approaches us. I asked to take a picture so i could share with all of you. This is the kind of stuff that happen in Boca and South Florida. You will never be bored in Boca thats a promise.

BocaWay or the Highway

Just the other day I was driving around town when I saw a young boy being questioned by the cops. It didn;t seem like he was up to no good, or did anything malicious or illegal, so I went up to the boy after the incident had occured and asked him waht had just happened. He told me "The cops just wrote me a damn ticket for $56.50 for my pants being to low." I was shocked!!!! I didn;t know that was possible, it then made me start to think about other ridiculous laws that exist and are enforced in Boca and if it is really a law that is being broken, or Boca way of sayin if you dont like it, then GET OUT!!!!!!

So I was working on a group project and saw these people. Someone in my group said I have to take a picture of this guy. In between the laughter she managed to muster some courage and ask for a Kodak moment and they accepted. They said they were dressed this way for a 70s project for class, I think not, but think its a great excuse. These guys were very happy and did not seem to disslike their attire in the least. This is a once in a lifetime shot so enjoy.

Who knew you could go to the gym and spend your whole day in one place? Located in Boca Raton, this upscale expensive gym consists of a spa, pool, sauna, gym, group classes, salon..do i need to go on? "Bocans" can literally go work out, go eat, tan, swim, get your hair done, and spend the rest of your day at the spa. Boca is all about luxury and this surely is the place to do it. A membership to this place is $100 + depending on what plan you get. Its definitely a nice way to spend the day. You don't have to leave your location to do anything everything is right at your fingertips at this place. I have been to this gym before, and all you see is young beautiful people and old cougar woman that wish they were. Its safe to say that you will only get this celeb status treatment in Boca

Not Upper Clas??? then your no good for Boca apparently.....

So the other day I had to go in and buy a pair of Khaki pants. I was running in from right after soccer practice. Thinking ok good let me grab this pair beofre I head home and save some time.....BLOOMINGDALES is where it all happened. I have never seen so many employees give me dirty looks just becasue I wasnt dreesed like I was looking to spend money. I didn't have 1 employee ask me if I needed any help at all. They all decided to stare and when I looked back they turned away.. It came to the point that I was stunned and shocked and decided to take a huge pile of clothes into the dressing room and left them all there without even trying one on. I decided I would give them some real work to do since I wasn't good enough to qualify for their upper class service. Has this ever happened to you? I have lived here my whole life, and been to bloomingdales all the time. well I got news for you......Forget Bloomingdales and the stereotypes of Bocans that come along with it!!!

She Looked like Barbie minus the Pretty

I was in the Town Center Mall and heard some noise walking by the beauty salon. This woman was in there maybe in her 60s was making a huge scene in the store. Apparently she was mad because she did not want to pay for her nails because she said it was not how she asked them to be done. I did not look at her nails however, it was her face that concerned be terribly. As she was angry and yelling, her facial expression was pretty stagnant. Eyebrows did not move at all, nor did her face; she could barely get her mouth to open. It was a disturning sight. The woman must have had $100,000 of work on her face. She resembled this woman..............pretty close.

Boca Starting to Look Like the Dump?

On September 30, 2009 it was reported in the Sun-Sentinel that Boca's budget for landscaping is getting tight and is sinking. Boca Raton spends millions of dollars a year annually keeping the city literally "looking like a million dollars." They pride themselves on their picturesque landscaping. In 2005 the city spent a whopping $7.3 million, in 2010 they are looking at $5 million. The reasons for this is many medians have seen updates and cosmetic surgery. Another reason is the economy, which has less development. Utility taxes are source of income and less development equals less money. So Boca will be downgrading its greenery around the city. I urge residents not to get too frazzled and/or displaced.

Fancy Cars Waiting to Pick up Kids

Its just another day in Boca Raton. Parents were waiting in line to pick up their children from middle school by my house today and all i saw was a line of luxury cars. Boxter Porches, Lexus, BMW's, Mercedes. You name it. It was like i was in an exotic car shop. Its sad to think that "Bocans" think that all of this is normal. I have honestly gotten used to seeing them around everywhere. Don't be surprised if you see a Ferrari at the next party. No wonder ever teenager in Boca wants their first car to be a Mercedes or BMW. Its all society influenced.

So my brother told me the other day that a girl in his class B-Day was coming up. Most b-days most of us hope for somehting nice such as maybe an ipod, game console, clothes, simple stuff. Well I was tld this girl got a brand new car for her b day. Between 09 Audi S4 or BMW X5. It was up to her choice. HOW in the hell do people spend that money in a down economy for someones first car! The my brother told me that every other girl in his class excpets nothing less then a BMW, Mercedes, etc. Look what ahs happened to our culture and the stigma it puts on Boca, when 16 yr old girls complain about not liking their brand new 60,000 dollar car. I want a new car, COME ADOPT ME!!!! ill take anything...

Where there is money, crime follows

Burglars know where the money is at. After all in Boca Raton it is not very hard to tell. Flashiness is everywhere, from cars to jewelry (bling bling), to Dolce and Gabbana to the mansions. Unfortunately the crooks know where it is at.
Yesterday evening outside the Renaissance Hotel in Boca Raton a jewelry courier was robbed of an estimated $30,000 in bling. Police said the victim just pulled up when three men, all wearing hoods, masks, sunglasses, and gloves, walked to his car and smashed out 3 of his windows. One of the men proceeded to hit the victim several times while the other perpetrators took a brief case and his case of the jewelery from the trunk.
The suspects got away in a silver or grey Nissan Maxima with a paper tag.
The victim had minor injuries.

put it on daddy's credit card

so i was at saks the other day... browsing dresses that i only wish to purchase. just as i walked by the counter there was a very-well dressed young girl, the oldest she could have been was twelve and right then and there- amongst the big pile of clothes she was purchasing came out a very pretty plastic credit card. it was the one and only black american express and she didn't even flinch when passing it to the sales associate. makes me think... only in boca.

Grandmas Younger then their grandaughters!!!!!!!

haha so I walking in the mall last week, I went by the store Forever XII thinking that is the spot for girls.

There were more middle-aged women in their then teenagers. I freaked out.
Then it stands out to me as I walk around and you see Grandma's dressing more revealing then their grandaughters.
ITSSS DIISSSGUSTING GRANDMA, u need to stick to knitting your owner sweaters and covering up yourself.
I'm now traumatized by this and everywhere I go it seems that there are more and more grandma's claiming they are younger then their grandchildren all of a sudden!
Stick to what you do best, driving slow and cutting people off......

Old People of Boca Trying To Get Into The Mainstream Music Scene

This picture was taken at a Lil Wayne Concert recently by a friend in Boca Raton. This old man is wearing a shirt in support of the popular rapper Lil Wayne or "Weezy". Obviously this old man has nothing better to do with his spare time. Believe it or not, I saw this same man in the Town Center Mall wearing the same type of shirt. The only difference was the shirt said "Taylor Swift", a teen pop sensation right now. Since the majority of the population in Boca is made up of Retirees, I thought this was very outlandish, but not so extreme for the Boca Raton scene. It definitely brings a chuckle to people. This is not the last time you will see an elderly wanting to be hip and in with the times

The Guy was Covered in Tattoos!!

I was at a nice doctors office in Boca and saw this guy who was completely covered in tattoos. Completely covered, he was a giant piece of art. He had tattoos everywhere, arms and legs completely drawn, hands, his bald head, get this, even his face had tattoos on him. His face had some sort of tribal art on it. We see everything in Boca, from Ferrari's and multi-million dollar mansions to this canvas of a man.

'I think I have some extra change'_SC

I shared with a friend how we were blogging about bizarre and unique stories & circumstances that people would only see in Boca Raton and he jumped at the chance to share some of his favorite stories. As a previous waiter at the Boca Raton Hotel, he's witnessed some very interesting things.

There were once a group of older women (senior citizens to be specific) who weren't the friendliest to serve and extremely demanding to say the least. They all had the biggest diamond rings and besr designer handbags. One woman ordered the filet mignon, another had a lobster appetizer and the third ordered the fish special- market price. Not only did they stay for more than two hours, when it finally came to paying the check, one American Express and he thought to himself- Thank God & Finally! The highlight of the story is that when he returned the bill for them to leave a tip, they all scrambled through their purses and I kid you not- out came their penny purses and they left him a measly $3.76 in CHANGE! But they were kind enough to walk out and say, "Thanks Doll, the food was delicious!"

Dogs in Strollers

DOGS in STROLLERS!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me.....

Walking around the Town Center Mall, I was shocked to see a dog being pushed in a stroller. Only in boca you would find this. Let alone multiple mothers would walk around with dogs in their purses and diamond leashes and collars around them.....

Typical "BOCAN" treating these animals better then their own family.

Is it Bad that we think Valet Parking at Movies Theatres is Normal?

Is it bad that we think valet parking at movie theatres is normal?

The Muvico Palace in Boca Raton has a Valet and drop off area as seen in the picture. Ive been living in Boca Raton for over 9 years now, and used to think that every movie theatre contained a valet option. Society and the mainstream is now about getting to your destination the quickest, and with minimal effort. I have seen this movie theatre during its low hours, and believe it or not you will see a line for valet, even if theres parking right up front. This is something that you will only see in Boca. Most "Bocans" will never park their car themselves..thats a fact.
